Real Madrid’s run at the FIFA Club World Cup came to a disappointing end with a 0-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final.
While the result was a tough blow for the team, there was a major financial upside. The Spanish giants walked away with a whopping €74 million in total earnings from the tournament.
The chance to increase that figure by an additional €27.7 million slipped away after conceding four goals against PSG. If they have qualified for the final, they would have made more than €100 million from the competition.
However, thanks to FIFA’s prize structure for the new-format Club World Cup, Madrid still enjoyed massive rewards for their progress.

They earned a further €3.7 million from wins over Pachuca and Salzburg during the group stage, and another €925,000 came from their opening draw against Al Hilal.
Their victory over Juventus in the round of 16 added €23.8 million to the total.
Then came the huge win against Borussia Dortmund, which secured a spot in the semi-finals and brought in another €19.45 million. All of this added up to a final figure of €74 million.
Before facing PSG, Real Madrid were already the highest-earning club in the competition, with €55 million banked after reaching the quarter-finals.
The Dortmund result gave them the final boost, even though they fell short of a place in the final. In financial terms, the tournament was a big win for Los Blancos.
While the team will be disappointed not to lift the trophy, their strong performances and deep run in the competition have reinforced the value of their presence on the global stage, both in prestige and prize money.
