La Liga giants Barcelona are already aware of how much they will need to pay out, to secure the signing of Joan García from city rivals Espanyol.

The name of goalkeeper Joan has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 24-year-old – fresh off a spectacular season in 2024/25 – has made his way firmly onto Barcelona’s transfer wishlist.

Amid uncertainty over the future of Wojciech Szczęsny, and concern with the form of Marc-André ter Stegen, the Blaugrana have identified reinforcements between the posts as something of a priority with a view to next season.

And Joan, taking into account all of his age, Spanish nationality and elite shot-stopping abilities, has been earmarked as a favoured profile.

Not only that, but Deco and co. are already aware of precisely what will be required to bring the Espanyol standout in.
