After an eventful summer campaign that witnessed a change of the guard, Calcio e Finanza offers a deep analysis of Lazio’s Market transactions and the impact they had on the balance sheet.

The Biancocelesti parted ways with some of their biggest protagonists over the previous years, the likes of Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson. Naturally, these veterans commanded large salaries, so the management has lowered the wage bill by replacing them with younger players, albeit with smaller reputations.

As C&F explains, Lazio have saved approximately €44.5 million by offloading the aforementioned players in addition to others like Danilo Cataldi and Nicolo Casale who completed deadline-day moves.

This figure is calculated by adding how much the club saved in terms of gross salary plus the capital gains registered, in addition to the transfer fees (or loan fees) collected, and how much they saved on amortization.

The Figures Behind Lazio’s Summer Transfer Campaign

On the other hand, the Biancocelesti have spent a total of €27.9 million on their new signings, the likes of Tijjani Noslin, Boulaye Dia and Samuel Gigot. This figure includes amortization costs for those who arrived on permanent deals, loan fees and the new players’ gross salaries.

So between saving €44.5m from their departing players and spending almost €28m on new arrivals, Lazio’s summer transfer campaign had a positive impact on this season’s balance sheet worth circa €16.5 million.

Moreover, the source notes that Lazio’s new permanent signings will cost the club a sum of €32.8 million in terms of transfer fees. On the other hand, the club only collected €11.5 million from the players sold this summer. Therefore, Lazio recorded a negative net spend of -€21.3 million.
