While Manchester City are desperate for players who can strengthen their squad now in the January transfer window they also have one eye on the future. One of the players the world champions have been linked with a move for is young defender Juma Bah. Bah has impressed with Real Valladolid so far this season. His form has caught the eye and now a new report indicates that City may have put the wheels in motion to sign the young defender.
Publication Africa Foot reports that Manchester City have enquired about the situation surrounding Juma Bah. Furthermore, the Africa Foot report adds that AIK Freetong is set to demand a fee of €14 million to sell Bah. Bah is currently on loan at Real Valladolid from AIK Freetong for this season. The report doesn’t state if Manchester City are set to move to Juma Bah this month or in the summer.
Juma Bah has quickly shown this season that he is one of the more tantalising defensive prospects in football. The Sierra Leonean defender has made a remarkable rise in La Liga. He has impressed with Real Valladolid and has quickly established himself in their first team. The fact that he has done this at 18 years of age speaks volumes about his prodigious talent. It is no surprise to see him linked with a potential move to Manchester City.
Bah does look to be every bit of the modern-day defender. He is calm in possession and has shown defensive abilities that are well beyond his years. If City did move for him he would be a signing for the future. But he could also contribute now based on his performances for Real Valladolid. That makes him a tantalising prospect for the world champions.
It does appear that Manchester City are making moves to sign Juma Bah. It just remains to be seen if they are going to follow through with their enquiry as reported by Africa Foot. It’s clear to see why City would be after Juma Bah. He fits the profile of a player that would fit the City squad and is emerging as one of the hottest young defensive prospects in the football.
