Harvey Elliott has hinted that he may leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, saying he needs to do “what’s best for my career”.
The attacker has seldom featured for the Reds this season, in part due to injury, mostly appearing off the bench under manager Arne Slot.
Elliott made just his second Premier League start of the campaign on Monday night, scoring Liverpool‘s opener in a 3-2 defeat to Brighton at the AmEx Stadium.
The 22-year-old will pick up his first league winner’s medal this Sunday, six years after leaving Fulham on a free transfer, but may seek a move at the end of the season to get regular gametime.
“You try not to get too carried away with the celebrations, we’ve worked really hard through the season,” Elliott told Sky Sports.
“Some lads like myself haven’t played as much and it’s about going out and enjoying it. We want to win and enjoy it. We need to take the positives and take it into the final game next week.
“I think I’ve done it this season. It’s been hard with how much I’ve played. I’ve tried as hard as I could and whatever happens, happens. It’s about what’s best for my career.
“It’s about reflecting and seeing what I can do. I’m here at the moment and I’m focusing on the final game.”
Liverpool close out the season this Sunday when they entertain Crystal Palace at Anfield.
