Theo Hernandez was the man who sparked AC Milan’s comeback against Como, and in doing so he scored a record-breaking goal.

It wasn’t a very convincing performance from Milan in truth, who trailed midway through the second half after Assane Diao’s opening goal. However, just like they did in Saudi Arabia, they managed to come from behind again.

The French left-back levelled the game with what was a finish that he would probably admit he didn’t intend. A corner was knocked down to him and his first-time shot was shanked into the air but looped over the goalkeeper and in.

Then, four minutes later, Rafael Leao picked up a lovely through ball from Tammy Abraham and lofted it over the onrushing keeper to give the Rossoneri a lead that in the end would be enough.

Theo spoke to DAZN about Milan’s win in Como and what was a historic night for him on a personal note, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

Theo, you’re a record-breaker…

“I’m happy to make history here. At Milan they welcomed me very well from day one, surpassing my idol Paolo is incredible. Now we have to continue and I have to continue scoring lots of goals.”

What is there to improve on?

“I think the thing we need to change is the start of the game. We start too soft and it’s not good. In the second half we put more intensity and aggression.”

It’s an important three points for the table though…

“The standings are not good at all. We are Milan, we have to be up there. We had a difficult time, but with the victory in the Supercoppa and this one we hope to get to the Champions League.”
