The future of Fermin Lopez has been a subject of much discussion recently, with the forward being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.

The Premier League giants are keen on signing the Barcelona forward in the final days of the transfer market, but have yet to reach an agreement with the Catalan outfit.

Fermin, for his part, is yet to take a final decision on his future.

What’s new on Fermin’s future?

A recent report from Helena Condis has given a comprehensive update on the future of Fermin, suggesting that Hansi Flick has a clear message for the young attacker: Barcelona wants you.

The report does add that Chelsea are ready to double Fermin’s salary and perhaps even offer more.

While Fermin has yet to make a decision on his future, a final decision could come today or Friday. The player is currently evaluating the offer from Chelsea.

People close to Fermin and his family, however, suggest that the player is leaning towards staying at Barcelona and doesn’t want to jump ship just yet.

The decision completely rests in the player’s hands. Barcelona, for their part, do not want to sell the Spaniard and retain his services.

However, if the player wants to leave, the club won’t stand in his way and he will be allowed to leave Catalonia.

Barcelona, though, won’t offload the services of the Spaniard on a cut-price deal. In fact, the club find it impossible to sell Fermin for anything less than €60-70 million.

This could be a big hindrance to the Fermin deal, as earlier reports suggest Chelsea are not looking to spend a fortune on the Spaniard.
