Hansi Flick to afford surprise pre-season call-up to Barcelona youngster | OneFootball

A ‘surprise’ inclusion in the pre-season plans of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Thursday been revealed.

This comes amid confirmation that Ibrahim Diarra will be afforded the chance to prove his talents at senior level over the months ahead.

Youngster Diarra for his part completed a permanent move to Catalunya’s capital last December.

After initially enduring a difficult time of things, the 18-year-old soon settled into the attacking ranks of Barca’s U19 side.

And Diarra’s flashes of individual brilliance, evidently, did not go unnoticed amongst those in charge of the club’s first-team ranks.

As per a report from Diario Sport, in fact:

‘As of today, Hansi Flick’s start of pre-season will feature, among other illustrious homegrown players, Ibrahim Diarra. The Malian already knows that in the first training sessions of the 2025-26 season, he will have the opportunity to show if the football he treasures is really differential.’

Diarra, a Malian youth international capable of lining out on the wing or in a more central role, will join fellow youth team talents Toni Fernández, Juan Hernández, Jofre Torrents and Pedro Fernández in senior pre-season training.
