Hansi Flick speaks out on Ronald Araújo’s Barcelona future | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Saturday spoken out on the future of transfer-linked defender Ronald Araújo.

The name of stopper Araújo has of course dominated the headlines across all of Spain over the course of the last week.

This comes amid mounting interest in the signature of the Uruguayan international from a number of leading clubs across the continent.

Juventus and Arsenal, to name but two, are understood to be eager to land Araújo before the winter transfer market is out.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s Spanish Super Cup final showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid on Sunday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his defensive star was quickly put to Hansi Flick.

And Barcelona’s headmaster went on to assure that Araújo is a player whom he is keen to keep hold of:

“I want him in my team because he is one of the best defenders there is. He’s back and available to play. I know there are a lot of rumours but Ronald is a great professional”.
