Hansi Flick provides positive injury updates on two sidelined Barcelona stars | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Friday provided positive updates on the wellbeing of two leading members of his midfield ranks.

The pair in question? Gavi, and Frenkie de Jong.

Midfield duo Gavi and De Jong are of course yet to take to the pitch this season.

The former has been sidelined since all the way back in late-2023, with engine room partner De Jong also a long-term absentee, his ankle problem having been suffered in April.

Both players, though, have over recent weeks made major strides forward in their recovery efforts.

Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Friday, boss Hansi Flick, in turn, was asked for the latest on the potential returns of Gavi and De Jong alike.

And the German tactician’s response proved an altogether encouraging one:

“I see a lot of good things in training. I’m happy with Frenkie’s progress… and Gavi is also doing well. They are increasing the pace. They can help us. We will see from next week.”
