There is already a plan in place within FC Barcelona it seems in terms of new signings. Instead of making haphazard decisions or panic buying anyone, the club is going about it strategically. In that context, Hansi Flick just had one major demand from Barcelona.
The German coach wanted a new left-winger reportedly, and that is exactly what the club is giving him. With reliable sources now having confirmed it, there is total agreement for Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United and join Barcelona this summer.
However, even though it is not a permanent transfer, Hansi Flick still wants to make the most of the loan deal. To do that, however, the German coach will need to get the most out of Rashford even if he is currently seen as a substitute option more than a starter.

According to SPORT, the main plan that Flick has in mind for Rashford is that he only wants to use him primarily as a left-winger. He does not exactly want to use him too often as a centre-forward, but he is glad that the option exists in case of an emergency.
In terms of preference and necessity, however, Flick sees Rashford as primarily a left-winger. He wants the 27-year-old English winger to play wide and cut inside onto his stronger foot, a technique that the Premier League forward is quite familiar with already.
Back to his position, Rashford is expected to share the spotlight with Raphinha. With the Brazilian essentially being untouchable within Flick’s squad right now, Rashford is expected to be that spark off the bench that can bring dynamism and energy into any game.
As for the actual alternatives for the centre-forward role, Flick continued to trust Robert Lewandowski as a starter and Ferran Torres as his back-up option. Similarly, the option of Dani Olmo remains as alive as ever and Flick sees him as another option to play as a centre-forward if needed.
Fortunately, the deal does not involve too many risks for Barça. As per the revealed details, the loan operation will have a purchase option attached that is not mandatory, so the Catalan giants will get to have the final say by the end of next season and their response could vary based on how Rashford ends up performing.
