FULL TIME! WOLVES 0-4 MANCHESTER CITY

An ominous opening day win from City who made very light work of Wolves after breaking the deadlock in the 35th minute.

OneFootball Video

Tijjani Reijnders was fantastic on his Premier League debut, Erling Haaland looks back to his scary best, and Rayan Cherki got off the mark too.

There was plenty of other positives for Pep Guardiola from game one of 38.

Nico looks to have potentially dislocated his elbow after an awkward landing.

A very painful one, and he's off late on.

Seven more minutes of pain for Wolves to endure as we move into added time.

Vitor Pereira did a brilliant job to keep Wolves up last season, and with ease in the end.

However, he's lost his two best players, and it could be a long season for them.

The City fans are in party mode in the Wolverhampton sun, and who could blame them?

A fantastic way to start their bid to regain the title.

GOOOAL! CHERKI MAKES HIS MARK!

Rayan Cherki came on for Haaland minutes ago, and he's done a good job of replacing him with a fine goal.

Wolves again lose the ball near their own box, and a step over later, the ball is in the bottom corner.

Two debutants with goals, and City are going top of the very, very early league table.

It's been a while since a Dutch player has taken the league by a storm right away.

Ruud van Nistelrooy would be proud.

The Dutchman joins an eclectic mix of midfielders, and Michu, who was more of a forward!

With the three points in the bag, Pep makes three changes.

Omar Marmoush, Nico O'Reilly and former Wolves man Matheus Nunes are on for Jérémy Doku, Rico Lewis and Bernardo Silva.

GOOOOAL! HAALAND GETS ANOTHER!!

That's the game, and what a way to do it.

A long ball from Trafford finds Bobb, who plays in Reijnders on the right hand side of the box.

The Dutchman gets an assist by pulling it back for Haaland to emphatically sweep home.

Statement stuff from City.

Reijnders goes into the book for a tactical foul on Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

He's been very impressive on his league debut.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY!

Can Wolves mount a comeback or will City cruise to their first win?

HALF TIME! WOLVES 0-2 MAN CITY

It was all going so well for the hosts for much of the first half, but they now have a mountain to climb.

Haaland and Reijnders have Pep's men in charge.

Reijnders has a goal per game ratio though!

GOOOOAL! AND IT'S TWO FOR CITY!

Just like that, all of Wolves hard work in the opening 34 minutes appears to be all for nothing.

Reijnders gets his first Premier League goal on his debut, finishing in fine style after Bobb capitalises on a wayward defensive pass.

Not a bad start for the new boy. Not bad at all.

GOOOOAL! HAALAND PUTS CITY IN THE LEAD!

Who else?

It's as easy a goal as the big Norwegian will score all season thanks to fine work from Reijnders and Rico Lewis.

Reijnders drove through midfield and clipped a delightful ball into the box, which Lewis squared for Haaland to tap into the empty net.

Up and running.

James Trafford hasn't had a save to make yet, but he's look very composed in the City goal.

As the Liverpool fans did in the 20th minute yesterday, the Wolves fans are clapping for Diogo Jota in the 18th minute here.

He wore the 18 shirt in his three years at Molineux.

And they have...with a tame header from Nico González that José Sá easily saves.

No shots so far. Hopefully things pick up soon.

Their final pass has been off, though, with Tijani Reijnders' attempted switch to Oscar Bobb going out for a goal kick.

Unsurprisingly, City have had most of the ball in the opening periods.

KICK OFF!

And we're underway at Molineux.

There's a minute's silence for the former Wolves forward, who played 131 times and scored 44 goals for the club between 2017 and 2020.

An incredible tribute to Diogo Jota from the Wolves fans.

It's also a bit surprising to see Omar Marmoush on the bench after his fine first six months at City.

Pep roulette is in full swing it seems to start the season!

20 minutes until our final game of the opening Saturday of the Premier League season, and it should be a very interesting 90 minutes at Molineux.

The old reliables of Rúben Dias, John Stones, new captain Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland are there, but otherwise it's new signings and players who've yet to show their capable of filling the boots of those who have left.

It's a big afternoon for Nico González, Jérémy Doku, Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis to name just a few.

We might only be five games into the opening weekend, but Sunderland sit top of the Premier League on alphabetical order.

Drink it in, Black Cats!

FULL TIME! BRIGHTON 1-1 FULHAM

Brighton won't believe they've thrown this way, but Muniz has done it again, and Fulham have nicked a point.

FULL TIME! SPURS 3-0 BURNLEY

Not the dream return for Scott Parker's Clarets, but the Thomas Frank era is up and running.

FULL TIME! SUNDERLAND 3-0 WEST HAM

The dream return to the Premier League for Sunderland.

GOAL! FULHAM LEVEL AT THE DEATH!!!

Scratch that, they've only gone and rescued a point in the final minute of added time!!!

And it's Rodrigo Muniz - who else!! - who's got it, smashing home brilliantly after a corner fell his way.

The best super sub in the league has done it again.

Kenny Tete sidefoots over from close range, and Fulham's race looks run.

GOAL! SUNDERLAND'S DREAM DAY IS COMPLETE

Wilson Isidor makes it three, and this is now beyond the wildest imagination of even the most optimistic Sunderland supporter.

What a stunning return to the top flight for the Black Cats, and it already looks like a dreary season ahead for West Ham.

Added time in our three games, and it would be a surprise if Fulham equalised in the seven minutes.

10 minutes to go in our three 3pm (BST) kick offs.

Spurs and Sunderland are as good as home, while Brighton hold a 1-0 lead over Fulham.

Can Marco Silva's side do something?

The word is that Ederson is ill, hence James Trafford makes his City debut at the start of his second stint with the club.

There's no Phil Foden in the squad either.

GOAL! SUNDERLAND MAKE IT 2-0!

This is turning into the dream day for everyone connected to the Black Cats.

It's 2-0, and its playoff hero Dan Ballard who's scored with a typically brilliant header.

They have lift off in the top flight!

Fulham have posed next to no threat at the Amex.

1-0 is a very dangerous scoreline but Brighton look very comfortable.

Richarlison's day is done, as he comes off for Dominic Solanke to a standing ovation.

He enjoyed a strong pre-season, and the Brazilian reminded everyone of his ability today.

Solanke faces a fight for his spot.

GOAL! SPURS SEAL THE WIN!

Three and easy as Brennan Johnson gets in on the act with a lovely finish into the bottom corner after Pape Matar Sarr picked him out.

Dream opening day for Thomas Frank.

GOAL! RICHARLISON DOES IT AGAIN!

WHAT. A. GOAL.

It's another assist from Kudus but this is all about the Brazilian striker.

He acrobatically meets the cross with a stunning bicycle kick, and Spurs are on their way to victory.

Not a bad way to introduce yourself to a new manager.

GOOOOAL FOR SUNDERLAND!

Eliezer Mayenda has scored the Black Cat's first Premier League goal since 2017 with a brilliant header, and sent the Stadium of Light into a frenzy.

What a moment.

And here's the Wolves side.

The post-Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha era begins.

A new-look Man City get their campaign underway at Molineux, and this is how they line up.

League debuts for James Trafford, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijani Reijnders.

Now, all we need is a goal at the Stadium of Light.

GOAL! BRIGHTON TAKE THE LEAD!

He's been linked with a move to Juventus, but Matt O'Riley is still a Seagull, and he's given them the lead with a brilliantly cool penalty.

Bernd Leno had no chance.

PENALTY TO BRIGHTON!

Georginio Rutter is taken down by Sander Berge for an obvious spot kick.

Finally something for Brigthon keeper Bart Verbruggen to do.

Alex Iwobi picks out Josh King, but his first-time effort is kept out by the Dutchman.

SECOND HALFS KICK OFF!

And we're back underway.

Hopefully a few more goals come our way shortly.

HALF TIME

And the interval at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sees the hosts still in the lead

HALF TIME

At the break in the North East and on the South Coast, it's as you were with both games scoreless

It's been a war of attrition at the Amex but both teams are growing into the game as Wieffer tests Leno before Wilson heads wide from an Iwobi cross for Fulham

West Ham should take the lead at the Stadium of Light, where Diouf's shot is cleared off the line by Ballard

GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

We have our first goal of the afternoon and it's in north London as Richarlison puts the hosts ahead from a Kudus cross.

Sunderland are involved in their first top flight season for eight years and have returned with a bang as this pre-match tifo proves
