Stade Brestois have enjoyed a historic season. For the first time in the club’s 74-year history, they will compete in Europe next season, with OGC Nice’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain guaranteeing UEFA Champions League football. Sporting director Grégory Lorenzi has been an orchestrator of Brest’s drive up the table: from relegation contenders to Europe. However, L’Équipe understands that having guided the club to a top-four finish in Ligue 1, Lorenzi will now leave the club.

As revealed by Foot Mercato, OGC Nice and Stade Rennais have both opened talks with Lorenzi over their sporting director roles. Florian Maurice’s future at Rennes is uncertain, whilst it is expected the Nice’s Florent Ghisolfi will join AS Roma upon the conclusion of the season.

L’Équipe now reports that, after eight years at Brest, Lorenzi will leave at the end of the season. Given his exploits with Les Ty Zéfs, he won’t be short of options.
