An up-and-coming member of the academy setup at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week been tipped for an impending call up to senior duties.

The player in question? Jofre Torrents.

Jofre, for his part, is a gifted left-back, who has been making waves in Catalunya’s capital over the early weeks of the new campaign.

After spending the entirety of last season sidelined owing to a serious knee injury, the youngster has showcased remarkable potential to return to the pitch looking better than ever.

All told, Jofre has featured for Juliano Belletti’s Juvenil A outfit on six occasions, shining from his berth on the left.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Jofre is currently, with Pol Bernabéu’s permission, the left-back with the greatest potential at La Masia.’

Should the 17-year-old continue along his current trajectory, a step up to first-team level at Barcelona, ‘in the medium term,’ is therefore considered a strong possibility.
