Gotham FC vs Houston Dash: How to watch, time, and more in the quest to win

Well, the resumption of the NWSL season has not gone according to plan for NJ/NY Gotham FC. The Bats have thankfully not lost, but the games against Chicago Stars FC and the Washington Spirit ended in a 1-1 draw and a 0-0 draw, respectively. While a draw on the road and then a draw after a red card is not bad by any means, the ladies know they need to win if they want to move up the table. This time, they will get another chance when they take on the Houston Dash at home.
Of course, the two teams played to a draw in the opposite fixture, which was one of the more dull games for Gotham FC in 2025. It was at the beginning of the season, so it was not the end of the world. However, the Dash continues to struggle like they did last year. The team currently sits in 12th place. But they are only five points behind the home side, for Gotham sits in eighth place.
Truthfully, the Bats should be higher in the standings. But as discussed, inconsistency and injuries have hurt the season so far. It was not expected to be as strong as 2024 since the roster drastically changed. But there is still so much talent within the squad; they should at least have a few more wins.
So, anything less than a win would not be acceptable for Gotham FC. The players must find the back of the net multiple times and prove that they are a team that can compete. This is especially true as they get healthier and have all of the main players available.

If Gotham fans cannot watch or listen to the game, then they can follow along via the NWSL website and the club’s X account.
Sunday’s game will mark the return of a few former players who were with Gotham FC during the last few seasons: Yazmeen Ryan, Delanie Sheehan, and Abby Smith. Sheehan's signing and Ryan’s trade were both shocking moves seen during the offseason. While all of them are missed, it will be nice to see them again in New Jersey.
