FC Barcelona are still settling certain operations and looking to entertain exciting market opportunities. However, things have been slow in terms of concluding operations this summer. So far at least, Barcelona is yet to shift into next gear for the transfer window.
Beyond the arrival of Joan Garcia as the first major summer signing, Barça has only wrapped up some minor operations. Swedish talent Roony Bardghji signed his contract with the club recently, but that is more of a signing that will stick in between the first team and the reserve sides.
Speaking of the reserve teams, however, Barcelona seem to have a rather interesting proposition for two cousins who currently play in the club’s youth teams. Guille and Toni Fernandez, two promising talents from the Barça academy, are now wanted by Gerard Pique at his own club.

According to the information provided by SPORT, Pique wants both Guille and Toni Fernandez at FC Andorra to help the team compete in the Segunda Division. He reportedly wants the two cousins loanee to the club and sees it as a win-win deal for all involved parties.
For starters, considering that Barcelona Atletic is currently in the fourth division of Spanish football, a chance to play with FC Andorra in La Liga Hypermotion could be a great opportunity. Moreover, it would be an opportunity for both youngsters to get regular minutes in a move competitive environment.
However, as per the same report, Barcelona seem to have different plans for both cousins. While the objective of the players was to go on preseason with the first team and convince Hansi Flick of their usefulness to his side, Flick himself seems to have a keen eye on Toni Fernandez more so than his cousin right now.
That is because Toni could actually offer some versatility up top in this Barcelona team. Able to operate as a right-winger, attacking midfielder, and false left-winger, he could get opportunities. Guille, on the other hand, would have to compete with the likes of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, and a few others to even get any minutes.
Thus, as a cost-effective operation that could have great sporting benefits, this is something that Barcelona may need to assess. Interestingly, however, this concept of loaning players to FC Andorra is not new at all and several players have been sent to Pique’s club in recent seasons.
