Marseille coach De Zerbi has emerged as the primary option for the Milan job, especially if the Rossoneri pick Paratici as their new sporting director.

CEO Giorgio Furlani met Paratici in London on Tuesday, and the two parties are believed to be nearing an agreement.

Paratici already met De Zerbi’s agent in Milan last week, and Gazzetta believes that the ex-Sassuolo and Brighton coach is the Italian director’s favourite candidate to replace Sergio Conceiçao in 2025-26.

De Zerbi’s attacking playing style suits Milan’s history, and the Italian coach is a product of the Rossoneri Academy. These are the main reasons why RDZ is seen as the leading candidate for the Rossoneri job even if, of course, Milan would need to convince Marseille to part company with the 45-year-old after just one season.

According to Gazzetta, Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri remain in the race for the Milan job, while Maurizio Sarri and Roberto Mancini are in the ‘second row.’
