AC Milan are already enjoying the quality of their star signings, Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix, with the latter expected to make his full debut tonight. Both of them are also settling in well at the club, a report claims.

If Wednesday’s game against Roma was a taste, as Gazzetta dello Sport begins (see photo below), then the Milan fans could have a lot of fun with Gimenez and Joao Felix in the second half of the season. Against Empoli this evening, the latter will get the chance from start while the Mexican is destined to come off the bench.

Apartments and Italian courses

Since landing in Italy, Gimenez and Joao Felix have faced the same challenges in terms of settling in. Fortunately, Milan have a whole system for this with employees and consultants, tasked with finding houses, schools for children, babysitters, Italian courses and so on. In short, it makes everything easier.

The duo currently lives at a hotel near San Siro, just like Kyle Walker, but they are actively searching for apartments in Milan. Santiago is helped by his wife Fernanda, while Joao is helped by his parents. Who knows, perhaps they will become neighbours as Gazzetta writes.

They will certainly study Italian together. Next week, they will start a course to improve the communication with their new teammates, even if there is already a great understanding with all of them.

Milanello is a second home

Joao Felix has been taken under the wing of his compatriot Rafael Leao, sharing a room together at Milanello. Gimenez, meanwhile, took the ‘famous’ room No.5 which has belonged to various managers in the past, including Stefano Pioli.

That being said, Joao Felix and Gimenez have also spent a lot of time together. After the Roma win, they ate dinner at Milanello, provided by the Rossoneri nutritionists, and discussed the incredible atmosphere at San Siro.

Much-needed enthusiasm

There is no doubt that Milan needed exactly this: the hunger, the quality and the willingness of two youngsters who also have goals and classy plays in their DNA. Conceicao, after the Supercoppa win, had loudly asked for reinforcements up front and after the signing of a key player for the back line like Walker, he got it.

For a team that has struggled so much with finding the back of the net in the league, they are two great signings that the owners and management wanted to give to the coach and the fans. The Mexican is the most expensive investment of the RedBird era, but next summer, or the one after, he could be surpassed by Joao Felix.

Indeed, if the Chelsea loanee performs as expected, then Milan will enter into new negotiations with the Stamford Bridge side to secure the former Benfica man.

Between Serie A and Champions League

Joao Felix will play his first game as a starter tonight, barring any surprises, while Gimenez will have to wait a few more days. Most likely only until Wednesday when Milan will be up against his former club, Feyenoord.

The Mexican still has to improve his athletic condition after the slight injury he suffered in the last game for Feyenoord. The adductor has healed, otherwise he would not have been used against Roma, but Conceicao and his staff haven’t missed the fact that he’s still a bit slow in his movements.

Felix, on the other hand, impressed the technical staff with how he was able to be decisive straight away. A testimony to the fact that at Chelsea, despite playing little, he worked hard. Now Conceicao and the Rossoneri fans are enjoying his effort.
