AC Milan and Juventus face off in eight days, and in many ways they are in similar places. One of those being their shared issue with an absent player.
New coaches, similar aspirations, and in some respects, same difficulties. The similarities between Juventus and Milan extend more so than ever this season. Arguably, the Old Lady are in a slightly better place, but this will not matter next weekend.
It is 11 vs. 11 and the Rossoneri must get three points if they are to claw themselves into the Scudetto race.
For now, though, we can look at two players that almost definitely will not be included in the starting XIs – Divock Origi and Arthur. As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write, the two share a similar story. In recent years they have struggled to find the level which they once were at, and now both are lurking in the shadows, unseen by their respective managers.
Origi has not been seen in months at Milanello, and shares his time between his personal trainer and travelling Italy, all whilst earning €300k per month. Arthur, a similar story, albeit he still remains around Turin.
Both players have deals that expire in 2026, and until then, both clubs are seemingly hopeless. They both will pray for someone to rid them of their expensive problems, but the chances of this seem slim.
Expensive mistakes. Shared mistakes.
