GdS: ‘In the crosshairs’ – Milan keeping tabs on three players

It would be unwise to focus on one player, let alone one position in the mercato, and AC Milan know this. Therefore, they are keeping tabs on several players, and a report has suggested that three players are in the ‘crosshairs’.

Whilst Joshua Zirkzee has headlined the papers for weeks now, Milan are working on several opportunities other than the one the Dutchman provides. Given the issues with the deal, this is understandable, and with the Rossoneri needing several positions improving, there is an added need for this to be the case.

In their situation, whilst priorities may exist, there cannot be any stones left unturned, and each position must be given the same level of due diligence, considering the level the club wants to return to as soon as possible.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) writes this is why several areas are being looked into at once, and a few players are in Milan’s crosshairs.

The first names of note are Emerson and Morata, who seem to be the priority focuses right now, but neither deal seems like it will be completed shortly, according to reports.

Additionally, Romelu Lukaku is a name that remains in the sights of the Rossoneri, given he fits the profile that Fonseca would like to add to his striker department.

Furthermore, two more defensively-minded players are in a strong position in the Diavolo’s mercato – Youssouf Fofana and Strahinja Pavlovic. The Frenchman is the leading candidate to be added to the midfield, and his arrival could kickstart a midfield transition.

Elsewhere, Pavlovic’s name is rising among the management, a left-footed central defender who can also play left-back, with an incredibly high ceiling. Given Fonseca is requesting a left-sided defender to play alongside Fikayo Tomori, he matches the desired identikit and RedBird’s mercato criteria.
