Some good news has arrived for AC Milan and Sergio Conceicao in view of the derby against Inter on Wednesday night in the Coppa Italia.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report this morning, Milan were immediately back to work yesterday in view of the Coppa Italia derby. Back from the trip to Napoli, Conceiçao’s men trained in the afternoon at Milanello, in the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada.
There is good news regarding Thiaw, who – after missing the match at the Maradona due to a virus – immediately returned to the group. It is likely that the German will resume his place in the centre of defence, alongside Matteo Gabbia (favoured over Strahinja Pavlovic).
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, on the other hand, is definitely absent, having undergone appendicitis surgery in Naples. The Englishman will have to rest completely for two weeks and will only be available after four.
However, Conceiçao will have Yunus Musah back against Inter, who was suspended at the weekend. The American could be deployed as a starter in a formation with Youssouf Fofana, Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao.
The Portuguese winger, who started on the bench against Napoli, will have the task of helping Santiago Gimenez, a striker in crisis. For Santi it will be his first Milan derby, after he watched from the stands in the last one played in February.
