Gary Lineker on Match of The Day on Saturday night.
The Leicester fan having watched his side lose 4-0 at St James’ Park.
Gary Lineker grateful for just one thing.
The Match of The Day presenter lucky that Alan Shearer wasn’t working last night.
Gary Lineker when presenting Match of The Day last night and getting to Newcastle 4 Leicester 0:
“Well all I can say, is thank heavens Alan Shearer is not here.
“He’s not been happy though with his team lately but he was today.
“I know, because he was texting me all afternoon.
“Gloating, like he does.
“But he was right.
“They [Newcastle] were very good.”
Theo Walcott:
“And they were very good because I felt the balance of the whole team worked.
“There has always been a bit of a debate as to where Anthony Gordon plays, where Barnes plays, they have got all of these players.
“But we saw a better Gordon today on the left hand side where he is more comfortable, where he can enjoy himself.
“You look at Murphy as well, who is a player, who I like. Because the thing I like about Murphy is that he has always asked questions of defenders.
“Isak had willing runners as well, who could keep up with the pace of his runs.
“A clever set-piece [for the first goal] and a tidy finish from Murphy.
“Gordon just wants to get forward and deliver.”
Gary Lineker:
“Leicester were dreadful, no excuses.”
