Former Leicester City players and pundits, along with certain club legends, currently offer a variety of various verdicts about the Foxes team. You'll get fairly unimpressed appraisals from even the most measured of experts at the moment. It is simply hard for any of us to ignore the fact that LCFC lose regularly at present. And they have often been defeated in dismal fashion.
The King Power outfit obviously employ ex-professionals and fan favourites such as Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart. The pair must find it difficult not to give disgruntled, exhaustive opinions like the majority of us City supporters have expressed this season. As a duo, they've appeared on the rather button-down LCFC TV and LCFC Radio. Other one-time stars of the east Midlands side are more fortunate in that they can truly assess the state of affairs without fear of reprisals from LCFC or losing their jobs.
And, to that end, retired England and Leicester striker Gary Lineker has weighed in on the Foxes' contemporary plight once again. Lineker is seemingly not a fan of how Ruud van Nistelrooy has Leicester playing. When justifiable, it is actually refreshing to hear this type of criticism. Hopefully some of the issues consequently become resolved. We can only wish.
Leicester didn't really entertain against Man United. Though, as with most opposition teams these days, the Foxes had the chance to win and score more. Obviously ex-Fox Harry Maguire netted an offside goal which won the game. But you could say neither deserved victory.
Meanwhile Lineker gave his evaluation on the FA Cup match. He wasn't too fussed with the bad refereeing decision. That's mainly due to considering City too poor to lift the trophy anyway. The implication being van Nistelrooy isn't doing a particularly good job:
"There’s no fifth round for Leicester. I must say, that was an awful game of football. There was a lot of one-touch football. Man United had a touch, Leicester had a touch, Man United had a touch, Leicester had a touch. It wasn’t great.Obviously I’m entitled to whinge at this offside decision but I wasn’t devastated because I was thinking: ‘I just can’t see how Leicester could possibly win the FA Cup this season playing that way.’ But I’m surprised he [the referee] missed it [Maguire's transgression]."Gary Lineker
