Income from buy-out clauses could be key for AC Milan’s summer budget, as highlighted in today’s newspapers, while their star signing Santiago Gimenez is looking to break his goal drought tonight.

The international break is well underway and as such, there isn’t too much to say about Milan’s current situation. The future, on the other hand, is a different story as the Rossoneri are planning for the 2024-25 season already.

As highlighted in the Italian newspapers today, income from players that were sent out on loan last summer should be key for the budget this time around. Not all of them will be redeemed, though, with Noah Okafor expected to return for example.

Talks are also at an advanced stage for some renewals, including Mike Maignan, but Milan are expecting a turnaround in performances from him. Indeed, it has been a bit too much up and down from the goalkeeper in the last year or so.

The headlines

Gazzetta dello Sport on loanees

💰 “Milan, €90m from loanees/buy-out clauses. From Kalulu to Morata: loans become a precious resource.”

🔁 “Eight players could bring in money by June 30. However, some will also return like Okafor.”

Gazzetta dello Sport on Gimenez

🤔 “Dry for Mexico too, now Gimenez wants to turn things around.”

😬 “The Rossoneri striker’s last goal dates back to February 18. Tonight, a chance against Panama.”

Corriere dello Sport on Maignan

✍ “Renewal checks between Milan and Maignan.”

👀 “The final agreement for 2028 is practically done but the club expects a turnaround in performance, less than brilliant.”

QS on the ticket prices

🎟 “Tickets sting, being a fan becomes a luxury.”

🤬 “At San Siro, between UCL and the Coppa Italia derby, there are three-figure prices even for the worst seats.”
