Can we take our first win at Blau-Weiß Linz?

We may no longer be in a title battle, but we have all the reason we need to give our all to the end of the season! Second place would secure a spot in UEFA Champions League qualifying, after all. If we finish fourth, we will enter UEFA Conference League qualifying, while third place would take us into the Europa League (provided cup winners WAC finish in the top two).

There is so much at stake as we head into the final straight of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga season. We therefore need to be careful on Sunday, as FC Blau-Weiß Linz may be at the bottom of the championship group, but since they were promoted in 2023, we have not been able to win a single match at the Hofmann Personal Stadion – and that has to change!

Gerald Scheiblehner's side are certainly struggling for form at the moment. Although they have the league's top scorer in their ranks in Ronivaldo (14 goals), they have not scored a single goal in three matches. We won our first meeting in the championship group 2-1, and our first away win there would come at a very useful time.

Our Red Bulls can always count on your support. The away end is sure to be nicely filled, with tickets still available there.

You can also cheer us on from home. Sky Sport Austria are broadcasting the game exlusively live in Austria, with OneFootball streaming for free internationally, and live text updates on our website.

A glance at the table shows that we don't have a chance of achieving our aim of winning the title anymore, unfortunately. What we can do is make the most of the matches against Blau-Weiß Linz and then Rapid. Our record against Blau-Weiß Linz is very bad so far, and we haven't managed to win there. It will be important that we accept our situation and go into the match with full concentration to take three points. Only then can we see what happens elsewhere.

The defeat against Sturm Graz is very painful, of course. We want to put that behind us as well as we can, as we still have two important matches ahead of us in regard to Europe next season. As we don't have things in our own hand, we definitely need to win on Sunday at Blau-Weiß Linz to help us move up the table as well as possible. That it's not so easy against them is shown by our previous meetings, which have all been close and difficult.
