Romeo Lavia has stated that from day one Enzo Maresca has made it very clear what he wanted to do and believes the players have adapted well.
Maresca was appointed at Mauricio Pochettino’s successor in the summer after guiding Leicester to the Championship title last season.
Chelsea have certainly taken a gamble with the 44-year-old due to his lack of experience, but that hasn’t proved to be an issue so far.
The Blues currently sit fourth after the first ten games and could move into the top three with victory over Arsenal on Sunday, a game Peter Crouch has backed them to win.
It would be a statement victory for Maresca’s men having failed to beat Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United, and would put them in a really good position heading into the international break.
In a short space of time the Italian has managed to implement a clear style of play and there are signs of an identity, although there’s still plenty of work to do.

Lavia, who has now started to establish himself as a key member of the team following an injury ravaged first season has spoken about Maresca and revealed what he’d made very clear from day one.
“From the first day he took the sessions, he was very clear on what he wanted to do and I think the players have picked up really well,” he told Stadium Astro YouTube channel.
“We know we’ve still got a long way to go but it is definitely going the right direction.”

For many of the players they are being asked to play in a way they won’t have done often or at all in their careers and they’ve managed to show signs of adaptation very quickly.
It’s exciting to see how much better Chelsea can get given Maresca is only four months into the job and it feels like the Blues could be onto something good if they keep moving in the right direction.
