Friedkins not interested in giving Totti executive role just to pay him homage

Francesco Totti’s absence from Trigoria has been talked about at length in Italian media.

The legendary captain has not made his return to Roma since his resignation from the club in 2019, under the James Pallotta ownership.

With the Friedkins in charge, Totti has always been mentioned as a potential new executive, but the rumors remained rumors and the Friedkins turned the other way.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Friedkins do not intend to bring such a cumbersome figure back to Trigoria just to pay homage to him.

They had thought about it three years ago but chose to put the matter aside.

Totti would only have a chance to return to the club in a role that would carry a certain level of responsibility.

This, however, depends largely on him as it would require the club legend to study for certifications that would make him eligible for certain duties within the world of football.
