Eindhovens Dagblad reports that negotiations between SC Freiburg and PSV Eindhoven over the transfer of French fullback Kiliann Sildillia might stretch on longer. This is due to the fact that the Eredivisie champions have submitted a lowball bid. Sildillia’s Bundesliga club isn’t satisfied with a €4m offer sprinkled with a few bonuses.
Sildillia maintains an estimated market value of €10m. The Breisgauer continue to demand at least this amount for the heavily-capped French youth international. A potential sale of Sildillia to VfL Wolfsburg also fell through last summer, with Freiburg rejecting a €12m bid from Germany’s green company team at the time.
Sildillia is known to wish to depart Freiburg, particularly in light of the increasingly competitive situation at his right back position. Freiburg themselves may be willing to make concessions this time as Sildillia enters the final year of his contract.
The Schwarzwälder nevertheless have no need to consider an offer less than half of their original asking price. The current summer transfer window stretches on for another six weeks.
Freiburg can also conceivably still cash-in on Sildillia during the January 2026 window, though players who sit on expiring contracts are also permitted to negotiate post-season free transfers in the new calendar year.
