Former Manchester United star Ashley Young believes Manchester United have to solve several issues to turn their form around under Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United was beaten convincingly this afternoon in a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is in much need of results and today’s performance is another indictment of the club’s current form.

The former Ajax boss was seen solemnly shaking his head multiple times on the sideline as he witnessed another top-six rival take all three points at Old Trafford.

Manchester United fans will be concerned by how the performance was so lacklustre straight from kick-off.

Ten Hag’s side backed off Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs which let the visitors settle on the ball and dominate the play.

The Red Devils conceded after Spurs defender Micky Van de Ven was able to run from his half into the United box and provide an assist to Welsh winger Brennan Johnson.

Postecoglou’s side would later score another two second-half goals with Dujan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke getting on the scoresheet against a 10-man United side.

Ashley Young concerned about ‘disjointed’ Manchester United

Ashley Young appeared on the Sky Sports coverage of the United clash with Spurs and gave his worrying verdict about his former team.

Speaking on Sky Sports as per the Mirror, Young said: “Manchester United just didn’t commit

“There was no effort, no work rate, no one was running, and they didn’t have any leaders on the pitch.

“Everything seemed disjointed. It looked like there were just so many individuals all over the place. No one wanted to take the ball, no one wanted to create anything. Everything was bad from start to finish.

“When we talked at half-time about who was the home team, Tottenham were so comfortable.

“They did nothing, They didn’t get in behind. Tottenham’s two centre-halves weren’t troubled.

“It looked like Tottenham were the home team, United fans are going to go home disappointed and rightly so as well.”
