Former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro recently opened up in an interview with AS, where he shared some fascinating insights about his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe after facing him in the UEFA Champions League in 2022.

Reflecting on their match at the Parc des Princes in Paris, Casemiro described Mbappe as an exceptional and nearly unstoppable force.

Despite losing 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain with Mbappe scoring the only goal, Casemiro was full of praise for the French forward, acknowledging his ability to perform at the highest level consistently.

Casemiro explained that Mbappe is a player who rarely performs below an 8/10 in any match, making him one of the most reliable and exceptional talents in football today.

The Brazilian midfielder noted that while it is unrealistic to expect a player like Mbappe to score in every game, his overall contribution is always significant, making him one of the future greats of the sport.

“I tell you one thing. Mbappe is an unstoppable player. My first meeting with him was in the Champions League in Paris, at the Parc des Princes. He did everything to us.

“We lost 1-0 with a goal from him, but it was crazy. He’s the kind of player who will go down in soccer history. We can’t ask him to always score a 9. But he never goes below 7.5 or 8,” he said.

After that particular match, Casemiro took immediate action, speaking to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. He urged him to sign Mbappe, stating that the forward was simply impossible to stop.

“A little birdie told you? Ha, ha. Yes. Then I talked to the president and I told him: “Book him. It’s impossible to stop him. He’s one of those players that you don’t know how to stop when you play against him.”

Casemiro’s admiration for Mbappe went beyond just his individual performances; he also saw him as a key figure in the future of football, alongside other rising stars such as Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Federico Valverde.

“He’s not on the podium yet, but he’ll get there. He is the heir to the big three, along with Vinicius, who continues to grow and improve in every game, Rodrygo, and Fede Valverde, who is a player who leads the team and can mark an era,” he noted.
