Youssef Enriquez Lekhedim, known as ‘Yusi’ is one among several young talents who left Real Madrid this summer.
The teenage left-back left the Spanish capital giants to sign for Deportivo Alaves on a four-year contract.
With his move, Yusi brings an end to his time at Real Madrid after eight years, having first joined La Fabrica in the summer of 2018 from the Getafe youth academy.
Having moved on to Alaves to kickstart his professional career, Yusi expressed his desire to use it a platform to secure a future return to Real Madrid.
“This is the right step that will help me grow as a footballer, and I hope I get the opportunity to return to Real Madrid or clubs of that level,” he stated in a media interaction earlier today, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
Yusi left Real Madrid without having made a first-team debut for the club, although he was called up to the matchday squad on several occasions during the 2024/25 season.
The 19-year-old left-back was also in the squad at the FIFA Club World Cup in recent weeks under new manager Xabi Alonso but did not get an opportunity.
He did make 35 appearances for Castilla in which he managed one goal and four assist.
Real Madrid have Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy as their left-backs and have further bolstered the position further this summer with Alvaro Carreras. So, any potential return for Yusi will likely have to wait for some years.
