As reported by HLN, Anderlecht will not be facing former Manchester United man Anthony Martial this week. Martial’s fall from grace continues as AEK Athens have not registered the French forward for the Europa Conference League qualifying clash with Anderlecht on Thursday. Instead, the side have opted for former Eintracht Frankfurt and AC Milan forward Luka Jovic.

Martial was highly rated after leaving Monaco to join Manchester United as a teenager back in 2015. After a strong first season, the forward only really lived up to his potential during the 2019/2020 season where he scored 23 goals in 48 games. Martial then struggled and was loaned to Sevilla in 2021/2022, but only managed one goal in 11 games. He joined AEK Athens for the 2024/2025 campaign and scored nine goals in 23 games, but appears to already be out of favour in Greece ahead of the European qualification clash with Anderlecht.

Anderlecht will face a familiar face in former Sint Truiden star Aboubakary Koita. The Mauritanian international joined the side in 2024 after a fantastic season in Belgium where he scored 15 goals in 38 games.
