Former Leicester City defender Nevin joins Malmö FF | OneFootball

Former Leicester City defender Courtney Nevin has joined Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Malmö FF on a three-year deal.

The Blue Ones announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website last night.

The 23-year-old Australian international defender joins Malmö FF after leaving former club Leicester City earlier this summer.

Nevin spent two-and-a-half years in the East Midlands in which she made close to 50 appearances for The Foxes in all competitions. The defender helped Leicester City to continually improve their league position.

Leicester City signed Nevin from Swedish club Hammarby IF and she is now returning to the Swedish game with Malmö FF.

After signing on at her new club, Nevin said “I am very happy to be here. It seems like a fantastic club, and I was really happy when they showed interest and wanted me.

“I already love this stadium and the sky blue color, it looks so nice. I have gotten to know the pitch a little and it feels very nice. I am really looking forward to playing here.

“As a person, I am quite relaxed and take things as they come. As a footballer, I like to contribute offensive football to my game. I enjoy the left-back position and like to get forward on the pitch, create chances and make crosses.”

Malmö FF are back in OBOS Damallsvenskan action next Friday when they travel to FC Rosengård.
