Sky Germany reports that former Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is a candidate for the vacant AS Roma job after the Italians sacked Daniele De Rossi earlier today.

No contact has yet been made with Terzic over the potential role as he is one of many candidates that could move to the Italian capital. Former Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel is also in the running as is Ivan Juric.

Terzic left Dortmund at the end of last season after the club’s 2-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final. Although he led Dortmund to the final, domestically Dortmund played bad football and finished fifth in the Bundesliga, a big drop from their previous season where they finished second and had the title in their hands on the final day.

The dire football that was played by Terzic resulted in rumoured confrontations with players such as Mats Hummels, who is now at Roma.

The Italians are currently 16th in Serie A and are winless after four games, on top of this poor start, Roma also spent big in the summer to back head coach and former midfielder De Rossi.
