Former Barcelona star will have the chance to prove Hansi Flick wrong in Mallorca clash | OneFootball

A recent departure from the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will no doubt be raring to go in the opening round of fixtures in Spain’s top-flight this weekend.

This comes with the player in question, in Pablo Torre, set to be afforded the chance to send something of a message to his ex-manager.

Midfielder Torre of course spent last season plying his trade on Barcelona’s books.

Despite impressing on each occasion he was afforded time on the pitch, however, the 22-year-old never managed to gain favour with boss Hansi Flick.

Amid fierce competition for places in the Blaugrana’s XI, Torre was handed a grand total of just 14 appearances.

In turn, it did not come as a major surprise when word was forthcoming earlier this summer that the youngster had been given the green light to depart Catalunya’s capital, for RCD Mallorca.

And it just so happens that Mallorca’s opening fixture of the 2025/26 campaign comes against Barcelona…

Expected to be afforded a leading role in the Bermellones’ XI this season, Torre, in turn, will on Saturday be handed an immediate chance to show Hansi Flick exactly what kind of talent he was overlooking over the last 12 months.
