Flamengo unveiled their new third kit on Thursday morning at the club’s Gávea headquarters, drawing significant attention well beyond Brazil’s borders, according to Lance. Social media quickly lit up with international reactions, with many fans outside Brazil offering positive reviews. Comments ranged from “Nothing beats this Flamengo shirt” to “Trying to resist,” reflecting both admiration and a sense of envy regarding the design.
The kit, which retails for R$399.99, will make its on-field debut in the high-profile clash against Atlético Mineiro at the Maracanã on Thursday night. This release marks the first collaboration between Flamengo and the adidas Originals line, a partnership that leans heavily into the club’s heritage and 1895 origins.
Primarily off-white in colour, the shirt features gold, black, and red accents. Design details include texture referencing the movement of rowing blades through water—an homage to Flamengo’s foundation as a rowing club. Notably, the kit displays two crests: an original 1895 version on the chest and the current club badge, rendered in gold, below the collar at the back.
As part of the launch campaign, Flamengo and adidas staged a promotional event at Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Arcos da Lapa. The phrase “Patrimônio Original da Nação”—translating to “Original Heritage of the Nation”—was projected onto the landmark, blending club identity with city culture.
The fresh kit has already become popular among Flamengo’s global fanbase. Its blend of historical and modern elements seems to resonate widely, helping drive international conversations online around this latest addition to the club’s kit collection.
