FIFA hands two-match bans to PSG duo After Bayern red cards

Paris Saint-Germain have been dealt a major setback ahead of their Club World Cup semi-final against Real Madrid, with FIFA confirming two-match suspensions for Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernández.

The Ecuadorian centre-back and French full-back were both shown straight red cards in the quarter-final victory over Bayern Munich, with FIFA deeming the offences serious enough to warrant bans that rule them out of both the semi-final and a potential final.

In contrast, Real Madrid’s Dean Huijsen has received just a one-game suspension after his red card in their clash with Borussia Dortmund. The young Spaniard was dismissed for bringing down Serhou Guirassy in a last-man challenge inside the area.

PSG will now face Real Madrid without two key defensive figures when the sides meet this Wednesday at the MetLife Stadium.
