The high quality of the FC Barcelona squad means that major European clubs are knocking on the door to offload important figures within the squad. And the fact is that the Blaugrana’s performance data this season, especially in terms of goal-scoring ability, speaks for itself. Barça have scored 41 goals in the 11 games played so far in 2025 in all competitions, a historic milestone. In total this season 2024/25, Barça have already scored 113 goals in the 36 matches played in all competitions.

A large part of these goals have come from their attacking trident made up of Raphinha, who has also had suitors and for whom the winds are blowing in Arabia; Lamine Yamal, who will sign a contract extension as soon as he comes of age; and Lewandowski who, despite his age, seems to have an endless love affair with the goal, being the top scorer in LaLiga. Between the three of them they account for most of the team’s goals in the three competitions. Goals that, as we said, seem to fall to the Blaugrana, who have racked up several big wins in recent weeks.

But FC Barcelona not only has undisputed stars. From the bench, they often take advantage of the minutes enjoyed by Ferrán Torres. ‘El Tiburón’ (The Shark) has a contract that ends in 2026 and so far he has not renewed it, so for the moment his future is up in the air. His good performances in the last few games in which he has played a leading role have caught the attention of the big teams in Europe who see an incentive in his ability to score goals. Teams such as Milan, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal have asked about him, as has Saudi Arabia. Sources at the club say they want to let him go, but for coach Hansi Flick the player, who came through the ranks at Valencia CF, counts and he trusts him as a guaranteed replacement.

Fermín stirs passions

Another who is making the most of his opportunities is Fermín López. The player was sent off in Seville, but still had time to add a goal to his tally. He is one of the best players in Hansi Flick’s team so far this season. He has accumulated 5 goals and 5 assists in 25 official matches in the 24/25 season. The Spanish international has a contract until 2029 with a buy-out clause of 500 million euros. His market value continues to rise with his good work and is currently estimated at 50 million euros according to Transfermarkt.

The player has had powerful suitors, but he has preferred to ‘pass’ in order to continue as a Barcelona player. During the winter transfer window, Manchester United and Aston Villa were willing to offer 70 million euros for Fermin. An offer that would also include doubling his salary. However, the midfielder made it clear that he had no intention of leaving Barcelona. According to Alfredo Martínez, several English clubs showed interest, but Fermin rejected their offers immediately. His focus is entirely on his future at Barcelona. “I want to stay at Barcelona. My dream is to succeed here,” Fermin is reported to have said.

It cannot be ruled out that in the summer both teams, and others who could join them given the player’s upward trajectory, could return to the fray and increase their offers. FC Barcelona will not facilitate his departure unless an offer is made that is impossible to refuse. The club from the Ciudad Condal has confidence in the player both now, where he is a regular in Flick’s system, and in the future, where he is seen as one of Barça’s standard bearers.
