Graham Potter reflected a very proud man after his West Ham side fought hard for a win over Fulham.
In what was his first match as Head Coach at the London Stadium, Potter admitted there is lots of works to do with this team, however the fight and desire from these players is evident since his arrival.
“It feels brilliant, it really does,” Potter told the clubs Official Website. “Three points, a very, very committed performance.
“It wasn’t perfect, of course, but the attitude and the effort and the willingness to fight for each other was certainly there. It’s a great foundation for us to build on.
“We rode our luck a little bit, but at the same time, I thought we forced the errors. We were proactive with our pressing. We were proactive with our defensive idea to try and create some chances.”
It was a night of many emotions in east London, with a clear lift around the club since Potter arrived to replace the underwhelming Julen Lopetegui – and although it was a big 3 points, Potter is looking ahead and is excited by what can be achieved at West Ham.
“It was great, it was stressful, it was exciting, it was frustrating. It was all those emotions, but that’s what we’re here for.
“I have to say a big thank you to the supporters who got behind the team. A brilliant welcome, so I’m really, really looking forward to developing the team and taking more points.”
