VP are reporting that Ole Romeny is set to join Championship side Oxford United. The 24-year-old, who has scored two goals in 13 Eredivisie games this season for Utrecht, will join the English side for around €2m. He is on his way to England now to sign a three and a half year deal with the club. Romeny joined Utrecht back in the summer of 2023 and has played 32 games for the club, scoring three goals. Prior to that he had a good spell with FC Emmen in the Dutch second tier, scoring 14 goals in 51 games.

By freeing up some money, Utrecht are now hoping to be able to bring Sebastian Haller back to the club. The Cote d’Ivoire striker has struggled in La Liga with Leganes, who cut short is year long loan. Dortmund and Utrecht are said to be in discussion over a loan deal for Haller till the end of the season. Haller played for the side between 2015 and 2017, scoring 52 goals in 98 games. His most recent spell in the Eredivisie was with Ajax, where he scored 47 goals in 66 games. Utrecht are hopeful that Haller can boost their chances of European football at the end of the season.
