Dario Canovi, father of Thiago Motta’s representative Alessandro, insists ‘nobody’ has made an ‘objective analysis’ of what has happened at Juventus and urges journalists to ask Cristiano Giuntoli whether the Bianconeri coach will remain in charge next season.
Juventus coach Thiago Motta is under scrutiny as the Bianconeri have been eliminated from the Coppa Italia and Champions League and are nine points below Serie A leaders Inter after a 4-0 home loss against Atalanta last week.
Motta is under contract until 2027, but Italian media have already mentioned many possible replacements for the ex-Italy international at the Allianz Stadium.
“His experience at Juventus has been a troubled one so far,” Canovi told Tele Lombardia via Ilbianconero.com.
“Last year, everyone spoke highly of him; now, everything negative is being said. He acknowledges his mistakes, but no one has objectively analysed what happened at Juventus over the last eight months.”
Canovi is an experienced Italian agent and father of Motta’s representative, Alessandro.

Dario Canovi had already defended Mota at the beginning of the month, saying that fans and media were trying to destroy the Juventus coach.
“Thiago Motta will become one of the best coaches in Europe. I’ve been in football for 50 years, and I’m convinced of it,” he added.
“The expectations surrounding him and Juventus’ transfer market have been excessive. Andrea Berta told me that Juve’s squad was built for a fourth or fifth-place finish.”
Many new signings have been struggling to impress and even get regular playing time, mostly due to injuries. A primary example is ex-Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz.
“He played little, not by choice, but due to a series of injuries,” Canovi explained.
“Gonzalez and Koopmeiners missed the pre-season. Motta may have made his mistakes, but he never had his starting defence available and has the second-youngest squad in the league.”
Canovi also replied to questions about Motta’s future at the club and whether he would remain at the Allianz Stadium next season.
“Motta is only focused on working and asks his players to stay committed to their daily efforts,” he said.
“You shouldn’t ask me that. You should ask Juventus’ management. He has a contract, but they will have to make the decision. That question should be directed at Cristiano Giuntoli.”
