Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring River Plate midfielder Franco Mastantuono as the summer transfer window nears, but they’re not the only ones. Several top European clubs are also tracking the highly rated teenager.
TyC Sports’ Germán García Grova reports that PSG have already started talks and made Mastantuono a priority target. The French club now joins a growing list of teams interested in the young Argentine.
Transfer expert César Luis Merlo has previously noted that Manchester United have shown the most serious interest so far. The club has scouted Mastantuono in person and is aware that his €45 million release clause will play a key role in any potential deal.

In his recent newsletter for GIVE ME SPORT, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano gave the latest on Mastantuono.
“No update yet as many clubs are obviously keen, but the clause is clear,” Romano said. “River Plate won’t negotiate, so it takes time.”
CaughtOffside reported Thursday that Chelsea are making a strong push to sign Mastantuono as part of their ongoing effort to bring in top young talent from around the globe.
The report also mentions that River Plate have set Mastantuono’s price at €45 million, which is his release clause, and are firm in their stance that they won’t let him go unless that amount is met.
Other clubs showing interest, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, seem to view the high release clause as an obstacle for the time being.
Meanwhile, Fichajes recently noted that with Mastantuono under contract through 2026, his camp isn’t in a hurry to make a move. Those close to the player have emphasized that Real Madrid remains his top choice, and the current plan is to wait for the right moment to make the jump to Europe.
