Como head coach Cesc Fabregas was pleased with the heart that his team showed against AC Milan, believing they were the better team overall.
In truth, Como can feel a bit hard done by to have lost the game to Milan, especially having taken the lead in the second half through January signing Assane Diao.
It would provoke a reaction from the Rossoneri, who equalised through what seemed to be a mishit shot from Theo Hernandez, with which he broke a record in the process.
Then, five minutes after that, Rafael Leao raced through on goal after a brilliant feed from Tammy Abraham, lifting it over the goalkeeper to complete the comeback in an eventual 2-1 win.
Fabregas spoke to Sky after the full-time whistle to analyse what was a positive performance from his team that yielded no points, and his comments were transcribed by MilanNews.
Congratulations to Como, but another defeat…
“I’m tired of the compliments, we want to play well and win. We saw a great Como for 65 minutes. If you tell someone who doesn’t understand football that Milan-Como is being played, they think that Milan are the ones in white and blue.

“It’s true that we then had 20 minutes in which we could have managed things differently. We are creating a team with courage, a mentality to go and win. Sometimes we make mistakes but even from the 80th minute we controlled the game.
“It’s a shame but congratulations to the team. We’ve reached the point where we leave the Olimpico and play against Milan, and we leave angry because we didn’t win. The team is doing very well.”
For Milan’s second goal, why did Abraham have that space and what was the defensive line supposed to do?
“Caqueret can do anything. I respect your opinion but you want me to play a 100% perfect game against Milan? They found space once, well done, should I applaud them?
“They got the game back level with a dead ball, without that I don’t see how they would have recovered. It hurts. It’s hard to explain.”
