Former Roma manager Fabio Capello shared his thoughts on the upcoming season of Serie A football.
In an interview with Sportweek, Capello weighed in on the league’s best teams.
“I hope to see fewer balls passed back to the goalkeeper, under the pretext of building from the back, and more vertical and quality play. Let’s copy the European champions, Spain, who play the kind of football that I like, made of fantasy, one on one and, in fact, verticality.”
“Inter starts ahead of everyone. They are the favorites: they have strengthened themselves, they have two teams at their disposal years ago I don’t see why he can’t do it in the next one too, having in the meantime acquired greater conviction in his abilities thanks to the scudetto, which is also the result of an overwhelming superiority over their opponents. I really think that the Champions League is a concrete objective for the Nerazzurri, if not the principal.”
“Roma? “I define it as the “fantasy team”. It seems to me that the arrival of Soulé, who joins Dybala, expresses a desire for offensive football, in which technique and genius stand out. Daniele De Rossi is in his first season in which he takes on responsibility to build the team: he is doing it by showing courage.”
