Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is considering cutting his vacation short to rejoin the team early for preseason, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Like his teammate Ronald Araujo, the Danish centre-back wants to start preparing as soon as possible to ensure he is in top shape for the new season.
Barcelona’s official pre-season begins on Sunday, July 13, with players set to undergo physical and medical tests before starting full training sessions.
It is to be noted that the 29-year-old had a tough time last season, featuring in only six games due to injuries.
Knowing that the upcoming campaign is the final year of his current contract, he is determined to give his best and help the team improve its overall performance.
By returning early, he hopes to take advantage of Barcelona’s facilities and professional staff to be in peak condition. This decision highlights his dedication and desire to contribute to the club’s success.

Christensen and Araujo are not alone in their decision to start preseason preparations early. Young talents like Marc Bernal, Dani Rodríguez, and Ibrahim Diarra have already begun working at the club’s facilities to get a head start.
For Bernal, this pre-season is especially important. The 18-year-old midfielder missed most of last season due to a serious left knee injury, which included a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus damage.
Before the injury, he was impressing in his early appearances with the first team. After ten months of intensive recovery, he is now carefully working on his comeback, hoping to regain his place in the squad.
Meanwhile, transfer rumours around Christensen continue to swirl. Reports suggest the Danish defender could leave Barcelona this summer as the club looks to balance its books and reshape the squad.
However, Christensen himself wants to stay and see out his contract, which runs until 2026. His commitment to return early shows he is focused on helping the team while he is still a Barça player.
