Exclusive says two Chelsea technical talents have “formed a close bond” off the pitch already

The number of new arrivals Chelsea have had over the last few years has made it very difficult for players to build bonds on or off the pitch. From front to back, the constant turnover has stopped much chemistry developing.

So we’re glad to hear that one player who has been here for a year (without playing much) is already developing a “close bond” with a teammate who’s just arrived. GiveMeSport have an exclusive which claims that Christopher Nkunku and Jadon Sancho have got more in common than an assist for a goal against Bournemouth on Saturday night.

“GIVEMESPORT sources have stated that Sancho has already formed a close bond with his fellow Blues teammate Nkunku after joining the club a little over two weeks ago – and the pair have made a friendly combination as seen in the game at Bournemouth,” the story reads.

Sancho caused trouble down the left from the moment he was brought on at half time, while Nkunku made the most of his shorter cameo. We’d love to see more of them together, and we wonder how Enzo Maresca can make it work.

Possible solutions that allow new best friends to combine

At the moment, it feels like Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer are really locked into the first team attack. Sancho could force his way in ahead of Pedro Neto, but Nkunku faces a tougher task.

If Jackson is rested, we could see Nkunku lead the line with Sancho on the left. Or we could see Cole Palmer shifted out to the right, with Nkunku central and Sancho sticking left. There are myriad possibilities depending on form, because Palmer, Sancho and Nkunku can all play a variety of those roles well.

The Conference League and cups, where both will be starting (until they lock down a first team slot) can provide a test lab.
