Speaking exclusively with FLW, Lee Hendrie has been discussing whether Rayan Kolli should stay at QPR this summer amid growing transfer interest.
QPR starlet Rayan Kolli is attracting interest from major European sides as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia after his breakthrough season at Loftus Road.
The 20-year-old Algerian centre-forward emerged from QPR's academy system last season, but was unable to score in any of his 11 appearances in the first-team last year.
However, he's burst into goalscoring life when handed his opportunity this season, and has bagged four goals and two assists from 15 Championship appearances so far this term. On top of that, he's also provided a goal and an assist in the FA Cup (correct as of AM 9 April).
His exciting performances and quick development hasn't gone unnoticed, however, with Foot Mercato claiming that French Ligue 1 sides AS Monaco and Lille are interested in the highly-rated young forward, as are Saudi Arabian sides Al-Hilal and Damac respectively.
The report claims that Lille have tabled a contract proposal to the QPR youngster, whilst also revealing that Damac have made a formal approach too, but no details of the finances involved have been reported as yet.
Speaking exclusively with Football League World, we asked Sky Sports pundit and former player, Lee Hendrie: 'Monaco, Lille and Saudi clubs want QPR's rising star, Rayan Kolli. Thoughts? Should the club do all they can to keep hold of one of their prized assets this summer?'
Hendrie said: "Rayan Kolli - I've seen a fair bit of him this season in the Championship with QPR, and I think he is one of them players that has obviously had to bide his time to try and get himself into the side.
"When he has come on, and when he has played, I think he's been so, so good. He gives them something so different. He's got four league goals this season, and he's only 20 years of age.
"He hasn't got that much experience and game-time under his belt, but you can see he's got bags of potential, and he's certainly turned a few heads. The likes of Monaco, Lille, Saudi clubs, for obvious reasons, are looking to try and take him away from Loftus Road.
"You would feel that they would want to keep hold of him, particularly for the style and the way that they try and set up. They have a lot of decent young players that they try and bring through, and he probably will be one of their prized assets."
For a young player such as Kolli who has big clubs sniffing around his services, it must be such a complex and difficult decision to weigh up whether making a move at this stage of his career is the right thing to do - especially considering he's been with the R's since the age of eight.
Given how impressive he's been at QPR this season, and having signed a new long-term contract extension with the club in January, he's sure to see his role in the squad morph into a fully-fledged starting player from next season onwards.
However, a move abroad could see him fast-track his career and reputation on a bigger stage, or it could see him receive minimal game-time and as such, work against his development as a young footballer.
"For me, he should stay another season in the Championship, if not another one or two seasons," Hendrie told us.
"I feel that he's got an awful lot to learn, and they've got a good manager that can certainly progress him and bring him on leaps and bounds.
"It will be massive to see what he actually does. As I said, bags of potential, brilliant work ethic, bags of energy that can cause teams problems."
