Despite what some circulating reports are claiming, Ciro Immobile returning to Lazio is a mere fantasy story.
The 35-year-old left the Biancocelesti last summer after eight unforgettable years, joining Turkish giants, Besiktas. While his tally this season wasn’t half bad, the veteran striker is apparently feeling homesick, which suggests leaving the peninsula was an ill-advised decision in hindsight. Therefore, he is gunning for a return to Serie A, and is now close to joining Bologna.
The Rossoblu’s manager, Vincenzo Italiano, has requesed the arrival of a new No.9 with different characteristics. He currently has Thijs Dallinga and Santiago Castro at his disposal, but apparently seeks a more experienced profile.

As for the rumors claiming that Immobile could rejoin Lazio, those stories are completely unfounded. At this point, we can confirm there’s zero chance of the Euro 2020 winner re-signing for the Aquile.
It should be remembered that the former Lazio captain didn’t leave the club on good terms. On the contrary, there were some fractures in the relationship with hierarchy, and he may have stirred the pot on some occasions which played a part in Maurizio Sarri’s resignation in March 2024. This was something that Claudio Lotito had alluded to in recent statements.
And finally, let’s not forget that Lazio are prevented from making any signings due to a ban imposed by COVISOC.
