Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer has this week agreed a lucrative new deal and sources close to the player says he’s determined to get back in form.

The news comes off the back of Chelsea beating Leicester City 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in what was a vital three points in the race for Champions League spots.

It didn’t look like it was going to be Chelsea’s day after Cole Palmer missed a first half penalty when most of us would of put our houses on him scoring it.

Enzo Maresca was very pleased with the three points but he did once again threaten to take off one of his players if they went against his passing tactics.

All in all though it was a good afternoon for Chelsea as they firmly put themselves back in to fourth place in the Premier League.

Most people would have bet their houses on Palmer scoring his penalty, but it was perhaps a sign that his confidence has taken a knock due to his form ticking down lately. It happens to even the best players.

According to our own writer Simon Phillips this week revealing the exclusive news via his Substack site, Palmer has agreed a new contract with Nike.

He says:

‘Cole Palmer might be in a bit of a sticky patch of form on the pitch right now, but sources around the player have no doubts at all that he will soon be back to his very best on a regular basis and have noted his determination and hard work to do so.

‘SPTC sources have learned over the weekend that off the field, Palmer has been out of contract with his main player sponsor Nike, for some time now.

‘There has been a lot of back and forth on negotiations for a new contract between the two parties, but we can now confirm that an agreement has been reached.

‘Palmer has agreed to sign with Nike again and extend his contract with them until the end of next season at least in what has been described as a very lucrative deal for the player.’
