The Seasiders have raked in a healthy sum of money from winger Rob Apter's sale to Championship side Charlton Athletic, with Football Insider claiming that owner Simon Sadler agreed to sell for a fee in excess of £2 million.

Finding an Apter replacement like-for-like will likely be on manager Steve Bruce's agenda, but so is a new striker too. Former Tangerines centre-forward Jerry Yates has been linked, but another player is on their radar for that part of the pitch who has League One experience.

FLW has been told that Blackpool are interested in Nottingham Forest's Dale Taylor, who spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic in the third tier of English football.

The 21-year-old impressed at the Latics, leading the line for the Greater Manchester outfit for much of the campaign and scoring 11 goals, whilst also notching seven assists on top of that.

It was a somewhat underwhelming 2024-25 campaign for Wigan under Shaun Maloney and then Ryan Lowe as they finished 15th in League One, but that was no slight on Taylor's showings at the Brick Community Stadium, as he was voted the club's Player of the Year.

Wigan have moved on from Taylor though following the end of his loan stint, signing Paul Mullin, Dara Costelloe and Christian Saydee to add to Maleace Asamoah up-front, which could leave Blackpool to make their move unchallenged.

Taylor, who has been capped eight times for the Northern Ireland national team, signed a new Nottingham Forest contract before joining Wigan, meaning he's still got two years to run at the City Ground on that deal.
